This year, St. Elias Greek Orthodox Church is partnering with Congregation Beit Tikva for their fifth annual Teddy Bear Project for the Solace Crisis Treatment Center (formerly the Rape Crisis Center). Please bring new stuffed animals and art supplies to our church and give them to Fr. Dimitri to collect for Beit Tikva. All donated stuffed animals must be new, and must not contain any batteries. If you want to donate art supplies, please contact Joan Less (954-1030; email@example.com), and ask her what they need. She has a list of wished-for items. Fr. Dimitri will collect donated items through March 27, and Beit Tikva will deliver them to the Solace Center in April, which is Child Abuse Awareness Month.
Congregation Beit Tikva’s Teddy Bear Project for the Solace Crisis Treatment Center collects new stuffed animals & art therapy supplies to be given to child abuse victims in Santa Fe, all of whom are interviewed at the Solace Treatment Center. The Center interviews approximately 20 abused children between the ages of 3 and 17 every month. After being interviewed by a social worker, the child is allowed to pick out a stuffed animal to keep. This helps to make a very traumatic day a little better. The art supplies will allow the children & adolescents to paint or draw or sculpt that which they cannot express in words.
You can also drop off your stuffed animals or art supplies at Beit Tikva, or at the home of Joan Less ((505) 954-1030; firstname.lastname@example.org). Please call first to make sure Joan is home.
Donations will be collected through March 27. April is Child Abuse Awareness Month. The stuffed animals will be delivered to the Solace Center in April. Please, any money donations should go directly to the Solace Center.
Thank you so much for your participation in this worthy project!

Many thanks to our neighbors Bryan Tagas and his staff for the beautiful articles about our church that they published in their August 2017 issue of Eldorado Living! For those who haven’t seen the article, Bryan gave us permission to post the images of the articles, and these are shown below.
Eldorado Living is a monthly magazine that delivers high-quality news, and full-color features and photos about the people, places, and events at the communities of Eldorado. It is mailed, free of charge, to residents the Eldorado communities. Visit their web site, <http://www.eldoradoliving.org>, to learn more about them.
Please submit your name and the names of your loved ones so that they can be included on the Scroll of Names that will be installed in the Holy Altar during the Consecration weekend. If you have a computer, the best way to send your list of names is to type it into the body of an email or download this Microsoft Word document, fill it in, and email that. No window or tab will open; the document will appear in your “Downloads” folder. If you type the names into the body of an email message, please group the names in the list according to whether the loved ones are among the living or among the departed, and whether those are Orthodox Christians or not. In the Subject line, type “Names list for Consecration,” and send the email to Mac Ennis <firstname.lastname@example.org>.
A form is also available at the church in the narthex or download the PDF form by clicking here. Fill in the form and give it to April Dellas, Niki Constantaras, or Fr. Dimitri directly.
